KIKO Cosmetics: The Verdict

As a relatively new name to the British shores, I've heard a few Kiko products being batted about on the blogosphere - Lily Pebbles is a big fan whilst Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup has some serious love for their Ace of Spades range. But in general I don't feel that this brand has the kudos it deserves, perhaps because it is not widely available in the UK, so it's a bit tricky to get your hands on. But having dipped my toe into the Kiko Cosmetics waters, I have to say, the results have been pretty darn good...

I've tried a few of their products but my fave would have to be their Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow's, and in particular the shade 06 Golden Brown which has been my go-to grab as the autumnal months have come rolling in.

The pigment is unlike anything else I've tried. It's so rich and glides on in a silky smooth application. It has a touch of shimmer and because it's in a creamy formulation it doesn't shed glitter onto the rest of your face so you're not left with a glitzy residue under your eyes, no-one like dat. This stuff is easy to blend on first application but quickly dries and stays put. Seriously. It does not budge until you lift it off with makeup remover.

The handy stick application means you can apply it all over your lids and blend it under your eyes with ease, which is good for speedy application. It's great as a base for other eyeshadows but it works just as well on its own for a simple everyday look. You can apply as little or as much as you want and blend it out to a light wash of colour, or pack it on for an intense, smoky, evening look.

And the best part? Whilst the performance is high end, the price tag is decidedly high street. You can pick one up for £6.90 at one of their London, Guildford or Leeds stores or you can stick it in your basket online at There are tons of colours to choose from (I already have my eye on a few more!) so there's something to suit all eye colours and complexions.

So if you fancy trying out a new brand or picking up a kick ass eye crayon, take a look at Kiko.

Love Elle xo

  1. This post has just reminded my about the KIKO store in Leeds! This eyeliner looks gorgeous, bet it would be so nice and subtle just under the bottom lashes.
