Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche Dupe: ZARA Applejuice

I love love love Chanel fragrances. My problem is however, that they're on the rather pricey side, so when I was sniffing through the fragrances in ZARA I was beyond happy when I came across "Applejuice". It's fresh combination of citrus and floral and the rounded glass bottle complete with green-tinted cologne make it a dead ringer for Chanel's very own Chance Eau Fresh…

Of course it was an instant purchase. But for the purpose of experimentation I decided to spritz Applejuice on my left arm and then Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche on my right, the result? They are ridiculously similar and after further investigation on the old www. it's not hard to see why.

After comparing the two fragrances on Fragrantica.com its easy to spot similar notes cropping up in both perfumes. The top notes for example are both made up of beautiful citrus-y scents - Chanel have plumped for Lemon whilst ZARA have led with Grapefruit and Apple but the similar citrus notes give that zingy feel apparent in both fragrances. Then onto the middle notes which are decidedly floral, in the case of Chance they have chosen Water Hyacinth and Jasmine whilst Applejuice have gone with Rose. Finally the base note for both fragrances are exactly the same… you've got to love a bit of Musk.

Of course Chanel have pimped their fragrance with a tonne of other scents mingled in there as well such as cedar, iris and amber amongst others but the key scents in both fragrances are remarkably similar and with Applejuice coming in at a snip of the £54.50 price tag of its Chanel rival at around £9.99 I'm happy to forgo the extra notes that make up Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche… At least for now!
