The Super Scrubs

Caroline Hirons once said that "nothing good ever came of scrubbing your face with a peach kernel". Whilst I agree that peach kernel's have no place in my skincare routine, I think that times have changed from the days where a face scrub resembled sloughing your face with what felt like broken glass and has made way for targeted, gentle solutions which buff rather than tear at the skin, leaving your face polished to perfection…

My first fave is Origins "Never A Dull Moment" it smell like I'm slathering my face in apricot marmalade and combines an acidic peel approach, using crushed papaya enzyme to "dissolve lacklustre cells" with the more traditional method of gentle beads which lightly lift the top layer of skin. The verdict? I love the product but I'm not so fond of the £25 price tag, so its good for a treat but not everyday use.

Next up is the Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub from Yes To. When it comes to my skincare routine I'm very strict. Nothing makes it to the daily arsenal unless it is very gentle, smells delicious and makes a visible difference. Yes To ticks all of these boxes and since being introduced to the natural skincare brand, I've managed to squeeze some extra space to make room for this budget bezzie. Rolling in at £6.99 it's much more pocket friendly than Origins and is gentle enough to use everyday, combining lemon balm to calm and repair damaged skin and grapefruit to even skin tone and enhance luminosity. It smells divine and is a hit with the whole fam. *Claps hands*

Finally, my third fave is Mint Julips by Lush, technically it's a lip scrub rather than a facial scrub but my makeup bag wouldn't be complete without it. In terms of prepping your pout before applying lipgloss or lipstick, this is the stuff I swear by! The mint-chocolate infused sugar crystals gently lifts away dead skin and leave your lips smooth and primed. Note: You will want to eat this stuff off your lips. Tip: Don't (its not edible!)

So there you have it, my top picks for soft skin (and lips) courtesy of The Super Scrubs

Love Elle xo
