NARS Orgasm Lipgloss

When it comes to lip products, I am OBSESSED! I have a bulging drawer full of lipstick's, glosses and balms. I was actually given this lipgloss for Christmas after lusting after it for agessss (despite the *ahum* interesting choice of name). But when I first tried it on I was a little underwhelmed. I tried it a couple of times before it joined the other legion of infrequently used lip products in the back of my drawer.

However, after recently rediscovering it and giving it another whirl, I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised and have been reaching for it every day...

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

I mentioned this product in my 2013 favourites but I realised that I've never actually written a post about it. As an absolute staple in my daily make-up routine, I thought this little saviour deserved a mention...

My absence explained...

Hey guys, I feel really bad about not posting at all this week but I think you can see why from the picture. I've been cracking on with the old dissertation, and 10,000 words later, I'm finished... launches into mad celebratory dance.

Hopefully this means I'll be able to post more often now, although I still have final year exams to contend with next so bare with me. But expect a few product reviews etc. to be popping up over the next few days!

The Blogger Made Me Buy It...

After doing my daily sweep of YouTube vids a few weeks ago I noticed a brilliant one by Connie from DizzyBrunette3 where she talked about the ultimate enablers in blogland. Discussing how she was bitten by the pesky blogger bug, Connie describes how swoon-inducing posts by some of her fave bloggers led to a fair few blogger-enabled purchases.

When scanning my makeup bag and skin care stash it got me thinking about how many products I've picked up with the blogger seal of approval in mind - the answer is the majority! So whilst my piggy bank takes a hit and my drawers steadily groan under the weight of yet more beauty purchases, I can't help but nod with Connie in agreement, 'coz The Blogger Made me Buy It...

Barry M Huckleberry Gelly Nail Paint

Spring has finally sprung and I for one couldn't be happier! And with the introduction of a new season, I thought my nail wardrobe could also benefit from a Spring clean. I've pushed the ruby, berry and navy shades to the side in favour of pretty pastels and bright corals. But my current nail clinch of choice? Dum, dum dum, introducing, Barry M's Nail Gelly in "Huckleberry".

Mandara Spa

The little sister brand to Elemis, Mandara Spa has some lovely offerings at surprisingly affordable prices! According to it's website, the name Mandara comes from an ancient Sanskrit legend about the gods' quest to find the elixir of immortality and eternal youth. Mandara Spa claim to have "embraced this legend with unique and exotic spa treatments and rituals that reflect the beauty, spirit and traditions of ancient mystical times." Now I don't know about that, but what I do know is this stuff smells incredible!

I came across this lovely little range whilst perusing the aisles of Sainsbury's and I have to say, I'm hooked! The Island Paradise and Amber Heaven collections have quickly become my favourites, with the former providing a zesty, fresh, daytime option and the latter a luxurious ahhhh inducing bath time indulgence.

Prices start from £4 and go up to around £12, but the range is often on special offer with some half-price bargains to be had. So far I've indulged in the Moisturising Body Lotion, Moisturising Shower Gel and Cleansing Travel Wipes for Face and Body from the Island Paradise range and the Exfoliating Sugar Scrub from the Amber Heaven alternative. Other ranges include Honeymilk Dreams and Tropical Blooms which I'm aching to try. But I already have my eye on the Mandara Spa Amber Heaven Pampering Honey Bath.

So, next time you're in Sainsbury's, why not give Mandara a little look!

Right folks, I'm off for a soak. Ahhhh, this is the life...

L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim

I am a liner gal through and through. A makeup day always involves a quick slick of the stuff. I've tried just mascara or shading some shadow across my lash line but I just don't feel done without it. So, it goes without saying that I've tried a fair few liners in my time and funnily enough the one that made its way to top of the class was a liquid liner from budget brand 2True which I spoke about here. However, in that same post I noted my interest in felt-tip liners having been disappointed by the Collection offering. Now almost a year later, I think I've found my ideal feline-flick inducing felt tip. Here's the low-down on L'Oreal's Super Liner Perfect Slim.

The Sunday Post: Breakfast at Bills...

Nothing says Sunday like waking up late with the sun shining through your curtains, taking a stroll somewhere scenic and ending up at your favourite cafe in time for brunch. The eatery that always tops my list is Bill's. If you haven't heard of it, you should have! It's a cute, charming little chain that manages to retain the cosy individuality of an independent cafe across its 35 branches. You can see the love and care put into every detail from the adorable decor to the delicious menu... BILL'S is the place to go!

Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque and Co.

When it comes to skincare I have a bevvy of concerns I have to wrestle with before I can even think about making a purchase. My skin is sensitive which means very strong botanical products are usually a no-go. It's quite dry so I try to avoid anything too astringent or stripping but it's also blemish prone around my chin. This translates to "I need a product which is gentle enough for sensitive skin, nourishing for the old dry patches but can clear away any troublesome spots". I'm aware that this sounds like quite the task and I was fully prepared to accept that such a product did not exist and I would have to layer different products - a hydrating moisturiser with a targeted blemish gel - to satisfy all three skincare requirements... Until... I heard the Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque being knocked around the blogosphere as a multi-tasking do-it-all hero skincare product. Cue a trip to Selfridges Beauty Hall. The rest, as they say, is history...
