Soap and Glory Make Yourself Youthful Sunshield Superfluid

Ahhh the irony, I've been planning this post for a while, but now I've actually got around to writing it, its pouring it down on a typically British "Spring Day". But then, you know what they say... it's best to protect yourself from harmful rays all year round and if I am going to be slathering SPF all over my face then there's only one that I'll be turning too...

I've tried my fair share of SPF's and even when they claim to be high-end and lightweight I still feel that the end result when I've applied my makeup over the top is a little too heavy. However, I noticed this little gem when I was doing the rounds of my local Boots and since it was on offer (that's right people, £15 down to £10 go, go, go) I thought it would be a great time to grab it.

Best. Decision. Ever (okay so it wasn't the best decision ever but it was still quite a good one!) It comes in cute little packaging (note: the bottle is quite small at only 30ml) but a little goes a long way with this stuff! Its slightly tinted and has a peachy skin-like tone to it as opposed to the usual white caste so that when you blend it into your skin it disappears seamlessly without leaving a ghostly residue on your face, always a win... And the texture? This stuff is weightless! It honestly feels like nothing on the skin which is fab as I hate my face to feel overly congested. And though it feels as if there's nothing there, it leaves your face looking radiant and (as the name would suggest) youthful.

Now I never paid too much attention in science so the technical side evades me slightly, but it is factor 50 which is nice and high and contains both UVA and UVB so your covered from longwave and shortwave rays and protected from premature ageing and burning... result!

You're supposed to shake it before application, then apply a light layer to your face before your makeup. On sunny days I think it would be best to pop it in your handbag and then reapply throughout the day over the top of your makeup which sounds a little odd, but because its so lightweight I think it would just freshen everything up without making things too oily. Another plus is the subtle sunny scent which is nice and fresh without being too overpowering... Think suncream and relaxed sunny days.

The only drawback is that it's a little on the pricey side as the £ to ml works out at about the same price as the Kiehl's cult "Ultra Light Daily Moisturiser SPF 50" but with all the deals going on at Boots, you can always pick it up cheaper and I'm willing to pay a little extra for a product that I trust and enjoy.

Overall, I really like it and am so glad to have found a comfortable SPF that I'd be happy to wear daily. So next time you're browsing Boots, why not take a look at this little skincare saviour...

Love Elle xo

  1. I need this in my life, badly. I'm always good and put on at least factor 30 because I'm paranoid about getting wrinkly, but to be honest, I always feel like I've caked my makeup over it. Definitely giving this a go, thanks Elle!
